Things are still very busy at the moment, but I managed to find this perplexing image in my camera, that I thought might make an interesting mystery object. Any idea what it is?
You can put your comments, questions and suggestions below – but please keep them decent!
A bum !
I don’t know anyone with a bum that hairy!
the split in between hooves? Reindeer?
Reindeer hooves are fascinating, but no.
upper lip of a large spider?
Nice idea, but no.
Coco-de-mer?
It has similarities, but nope.
a scent gland?
That’s an unexpected, but good suggestion. But no.
A close-up of a mounted specimen which has some damage/repair and is also shedding slightly.
A mounted specimen of what though, I’m unsure. The dorsum of the foot/toes of an elk or deer?
You’re first comment is spot on, but then you get colder.
How about the check side of the mouth?
Nope, nowhere near the mouth.
Is it purposefully-rotated or presented in a manner designed to lead us astray?
No, this is the natural orientation.
Cool this! Can’t wait for the answer!
Sorry my english, it´s my first comment here.
Armpit of some specie of capra?
Good try for a first comment!
It is an armpit (sort of) but not of a caprine.
This hair seems like an horsie right side, but a very scrubby horse, the humerus should be longer to be horsie, i think, that´s why i said capra. I´m a follower of the blog, keep on!!!!
Nose or lip of a moose?
The division between the toes of some hairy carnivore – bear?
Or a gibbon’s bum.
Sorry, had missed that it is an armpit. In which case, a gibbon’s armpit.
A horses armpit?
Coco de mer?
