This week I’ve got something that will probably be way too easy, but it’s a great specimen from the Horniman Museum:
Any idea what this cheeky looking chap might be?
I probably won’t get a chance to respond to comments today, although I will try. Good luck!
Hoo, hoo! Does this little guy swing through canopies at night? (A. t___s?)
He’s certainly a swinger, but not that one.
Oooooooo Oooooooo Oooooooo, what big eyes you have, what long arms you have. Have you deliberately not shown us the the lower half of the pelvis or the wrists?
Not deliberate – I’ve just been so busy I haven’t been able to take a photo specifically for the mystery object this week! Fortunately I always have a few photos of specimens to fall back on 😉
From what I can see of the teeth (not much), I think this is an Old World Monkey (2.1.2.3/2.1.2.3)
Good observation, although there are caveats…
Well, not sure if that’s a ‘yes’ or ‘no’, but I’ll press on with Old World. Given the long humerus & rounded illia, I think this may be an animal the Goodies sang about.
Oops, not ‘illia’ but ‘ilia’.
Should my arachnophobic friend worry about this?
Or perhaps this is indeed the Goodies subject?
Owl monkey ?
or a night monkey….
Seems to be missing a tail…
Oooh! I didn’t catch that!
I thought of that too, Jake, but the orbits don’t look big enough. Unless it’s a juvenile?
Hmm is anyone else having problems with the pictures on this
blog loading? I’m trying to determine if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
