Hmm, I’m rubbish at fruit bats, but Rodrigues (Pteropus rodricensis) perhaps? It’s the only one I can think of off hand with a dark head and pale collar anyway!

    Big for its order.

Snout looks like a “normal” mammals: none of the strange nose leafs, etc, often found in small bats.

On both counts, I’d guess Macrochiropteran. Which narrows things down to ?? dozens ?? of species instead of hundreds.

A promos of Adam Yates’s suggestion, this animal looks similar to the ones that used to fly over my house when I lived in suburban Melbourne on their nightly commute between the public park where they nested and the ?? orchards ?? where they dined. But I don’t know my Pteropodids well enough to identify a particular species.

In favour of Adam Yates’s suggestion…

The Wikipedia article on its genus gives, as a unique feature,” that the fur on the hindlimb extends down to the ankles. Looking at the photos, in particular th side view (fifth from top), the hind legs look large in diameter and maybe even fuzzy down to the ankle.

But making an i.d. on the basis of one picture and one line in an encyclopedia article is… So I’m not betting large sums on this!
