Friday mystery object #357

This week I decided to delve into the depths of a nightmare to offer up mystery object a bit less floofy than the usual:

It’s only about the size of my face.  Any idea what species this might be?

Pretty certain I’ve been picking lots of these in a much smaller and pickled state for the last few months! All I can say is “The Legs! Look at the legs!”

Really easy to identify to Class, but how many taxonomists out there work these out to Species? Perhaps Richard Brusca? …Pycnobase?

Excellent! I’ve spent time looking for some of this one’s smaller cousins. But this one…wow. I bet is has some colossal gonidia!

This is an Antarctic Sea Spider (Colossendeis sp)! Not a true spider but a arthropod that exhibits gigantism!
