This week I have a pretty awesome guest mystery object from the collections of Andy Taylor, FLS. In fact, Andy has generously provided two, although they are examples of the same species:
Do you have any idea which species that might be? You may need to delve into the depths of the internet to work it out, but it’ll be worth the effort. Have fun!

Hmmm….my brain is clamming up…I wonder would a shave help? ????
That’s a really clever answer but… it’s not correct 😦
Well, this one would be a bit dull by now, no?

shave ’em dry with a rusty razor?
Rhymes with something you may find a horse in! A!
Logan Michael wrote a song about them?
A good effort but not correct – definitely not a member of Pholiadidae (Angel wings or Pidducks) 😦
I’m just happy you got the clues without me saying what I incorrectly thought it was.
Usually I can narrow things down a bit, if not to a species, but looking at this one I couldn’t narrow it down even to Kingdom! Still, 7 inches long would be a big nut, so I’m leaning to the molluscan suggestions…
Think I may be wrong with my previous answer. Like peas in a pod, it could be a close shave.
